This week I’ve been on the road (or in the air) to Toronto for work. If you haven’t been, Toronto is a beautiful, clean, and safe city. It is Canada’s largest city – basically their NYC – but without all the crime or rude people. 🙂
In addition to doing two days of training, I also spoke at a conference about economic development and supporting small businesses. The conference included a reception at the Hockey Hall of Fame, which probably would have been more interesting if I actually followed or watched hockey. But I did hold a hockey stick for the first time in my life and play the interactive game – even scoring 3 out of 8 pucks!
Of course, while I’m away, work continues at the farm. One significant development is that the fireplaces were finally delivered and installed. Hooray! The living room and master bedroom fireplaces will be at the floor level, while the great room fireplace will have a raised hearth.
With the fireplaces installed and house truly dried in, now the drywall can begin. Oh man, does that mean I need to start selecting paint colors? Not ready!
While I was away John and Travis (aka, “bestie”) were clearing a path for the electrical cooperative to run their poles. Before I left, John and I hiked the path from our home and barn to the closest electrical pole on the neighbor’s yard. Then, with Travis, John decided whether to veer left or right to avoid the large oaks on the property. I’m really looking forward to getting back and hiking the path!
And of course, John found still more tooled ancient artifacts – this one just in front of the long porch!
So that’s our progress this week! I’m sure we’ll have lots more progress to share in the coming weeks. As always, thanks for stopping by and we’ll see you soon!
Hugs, Libby
