It’s been a moving experience!

It’s finally moving day week(s)! There are a few things on the punch list not complete, but the house is ready for us and our furniture. Let’s take a look before we clutter it up with boxes!

Walking in the front door
living room windows
dining room
Butler’s pantry
ilve 48” range
mud room
Library
master bedroom
master bedroom fireplace
master bathroom
outdoor kitchen
antique Egyptian doors
the great room
great room bar
Bar bath

I actually began this post on Friday, September 18th, and it’s finally getting posted two weeks later. Moving is hard work!

We are slowly getting settled into the house – pics of the place furnished will be forthcoming. I began this blog one year ago and would like to thank everyone who has been on this journey with us. It took longer than we expected, but it was worth it in the end… Every morning John and I comment that it looks like a postcard when we walk out into the living room.

We hope you continue to stay safe and healthy. As always, thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love seeing the pictures, Libby (?). We didn’t know about that nickname…

The fireplace looks so much better where you have it now and I’m really glad you saved it.

    Thank for sharing

    1. Yes, Libby is my childhood nickname that all my siblings and parents use (still). 😎
I wanted you and your family to see what we saved from the lake cottage. The original firebox was so much smaller – I love how they angled the wall mounted pieces so the mantle would look right. AND they put new gold leaf into the stone.

  2. With all those wood floors and grand spaces, I am thinking a roller skating party! Remember indoor wheels on those skates….

    1. Yes, the wood floors are lovely and are now being covered by oriental rugs. So less skating room with couches and other furniture coming in. 😜

  3. We are so happy to see the two of you fulfilling the dream of living in Texas. Looks like you’ll have a lot of fun in a house that’s definitely your Style. Look forward to seeing more as you fill it with your furniture.

  4. So great! I have enjoyed the blog and am so appreciative of anyone who can deal with all these details! Turned out beautifully and hope to see it sooner rather than later.

  5. Congratulations, John and EB! Thank you for sharing your experience this past year. Your new home is beautiful! I would have guessed you built and decorated it, because it definitely has your special touch all over it! Cheers to many years of great memories here ♥ Love, Lee Lee

  6. The house is beautiful & the selections & special touches are definitely YOU!

Now I’m ready to see you make it YOUR home so that when anyone enters they feel LOVE. May God continue to bless you with strength, peace, & great health as you move in! Love, D & D
